you for your interest in the American International School/Dhaka.
An
Admissions Policy and Fee Schedule (Download)
is available for download.
To
apply for admission to our school we require the following documentation:
A
completed Application Form (Download )
A completed Language Profile Form (Download)
A completed Confidential Teacher recommendation Form completed
by the student's Counselor/Teacher
and sent directly by the current school to AIS/D
A complete set of Academic Transcripts or Report Cards for the
past 3 years of school
A copy of any standardised achievement test scores (ITBS, PSAT
etc)
Speech/language, psycho-educational or special needs evaluations
and or records
A completed Health Form(Download)
A copy of immunization records must be brought, mailed or Faxed to AISD
A copy of Student’s photo identification page of passport
and Bangladesh visa
A copy of one parents photo identification page of passport and
Bangladesh visa
A non-refundable Admissions Processing Fee of US$50
All
records must be submitted in English. Translations must be verified/certified
by an official translator. Parents
may not
translate records.

When
all the completed documentation and the Admissions Processing
Fee has been received
the application will
be reviewed for admission. All
students, regardless of nationality and age must first meet with
the respective
School Counselor
for which the student is seeking admission, prior
to
being admitted
to the school. Successful admission is based
on a variety of
criteria,
which includes consideration of age, school records,
achievement level, and emotional and physical
maturity. All decisions
regarding the final placement of students is
made by the respective School
Principal and School Counselor following the
assessment by the Counselor. The
Registrar will arrange for the student to have an interview and
placement assessment with
the
relevant School Counselor
upon arrival in Dhaka. Disabilities: AIS/D does not have
an extensive
program for students with a moderate to severe
learning, behavioral or emotional disability.
Professional services for students
with such needs are not always available
in Dhaka and AIS/D has limited
resources for students with these disabilities.
Please
be advised that any placement at AIS/D is
conditional on the
student’s
ability to perform satisfactorily in the grade
level and/or program assigned. For

Requirements Pre-Kindergarten 3 Students must have turned
3 years old on or before
31st August in the year they are seeking
admission.
Students must be toilet-trained to attend
this class.
That is, they must not wear nappies/diapers
to class. Pre-Kindergarten
4 Students must have turned 4 years old on or before
31st August in the year they are seeking
admission. Kindergarten
Students must have turned 5 years old on or before
31st August in the year they are seeking
admission. Students
applying for admission into Grades 1 through to 12 should normally
have reached
the
age for
the appropriate grade
on or
before 31st August of the school
year in which the student is enrolled. The grade
